Opportunity to build your career with a global credit card issuer in
their analytic Center of Excellence based in NYC. The position will
leverage strong quantitative and analytical skills in predictive
modeling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Model development responsibilities across (UKRB) UK Retail
Banking.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of standard model
development procedures across all businesses; type of models will
span across all credit life cycle ranging from underwriting to
collections/recovery.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of model validations
procedures across all UK Retail Banking businesses.
- Ensure timely model performance tracking, and automate the process
to drastically improve process/operation efficiencies (where
possible) to enable the business to make rapid credit decisions
against market condition changes.
- Ensure the compliance of development and validation of models with
respect to UKRB, Group Risk and external regulatory guidelines.
- Develop training curriculum for Model development related
activities and provide training for modelers within UKRB and (GRCB)
Global Retail and Commercial Banking.
- Build and lead the best-in-class analytical/modeling group to
develop credit risk models for markets where the businesses needs
could not be met due to local talent/resource constraints.
- Develop criteria and process to certify model developers (scoring
specialists).
- Introduce best-in-class cutting edge techniques of
modeling/segmentation through innovation.
- Partner with businesses to develop business solutions through
advanced analytical work.
Skills /Competencies:
- Extensive experience in all aspect of credit risk management
focusing on risk policy modeling and tool development.
- Strong track record in developing best-in-class tools and models
for large financial institutions.
- Strong analytical, data driven, results orientated background.
- Strong understanding of lending products from marketing and policy
perspective.
- Prior experience managing direct reports including strong
leadership in talent management, communication and influencing
others.
- Experience working with regulators and compliance.
- Strong ability to train and execute.
- Strong knowledge of SAS software and statistical predictive model
development methods.
- Organizational awareness with an ability to see the “whole
picture” and recognize the impact and opportunities of activities
across the organization.
- Self starter who naturally assumes ownership of initiatives.
- Project management skills with a track record for delivering
initiatives.
- Must have effective planning and prioritization skills.
- Experience in financial services or retail banking.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Degree in a quantitative discipline.
